Had the pleasure of singing at the Singers Forum open mic. It's a supportive and fun bunch and the music is always varied. The highlight of course is the awesome Dan Furman on the piano, the guy is amazing. Here are the two tunes I did this month. Sorry for the crappy sound quality, I'm still trying to figure out the recording level on my recorder, next month will be better...hopefully...enjoy~
All of Me
On Thursday night I heard the Hot Sardines do this tune with their usual New Orleans flair. The lead vocal had this sexy, sultry voice and the band just gelled together so well that I had to take a shot at the song. I tried to do it a little bit slower with rhythm but I think I reverted back to my swinging style when I came back from the top.
On The Sunny Side of the Street
I been wanting to sing this song for a long time now, it's such fun and positive song. "Leave your worries on the door step, just direct your feet to the sunny side of the street." I think in this line lies the secret to happiness...
You are probably thinking for a photo blog it's pretty lazy to have the same picture on these videos, and you're absolutely right but I couldn't get anyone to take a picture of me this time. Next time come and help me.
