Streets of Old San Juan

As promised, the first of many installments of my trip to Puerto Rico back in August.  I stayed close to Old San Juan and spent a couple days just walking all around the city.  On the island, time seems to slow down, everyone is relaxed and friendly.  The streets were filled with colorful buildings, aromas of food carts and music that move your feet.

I met a friendly guy on the street who told me more about the architecture and history of the old city.  Apparently all the bright pastel colors were added later to attract tourists and the cobble stones had corral mixed in so they have this beautiful blue sheen to them.

It's really a beautiful city to walk around, everywhere you look there is a colorful building.  It's like a storybook.

More to come, stay tuned...
