A night in Narita part 2

The thing about sun rise is that it's something bigger than you.  It's bigger than whatever condition or problem you are facing.  Whenever I find myself staring at the sunrise I can't help but forget everything else and just marvel at the sight.  It's amazing to think we start everyday with a reminder that there is more to life than ourselves and we just need to open our eyes and look.

I love silhouette, she says so much with so few words.

Narita started as a disaster but it was really a pleasant surprise and the sunrise was proof that it's not the situation you are in but how you choose to see it.

Onward to 2013...

A night in Narita part 1

Happy New Year!

Kicking off the New Year with pictures taken from last April.  Procrastination is my game!
On my trip to Taiwan last year I stopped at Narita for connection.  Little did I know I was in for an adventure.  Between the terrible weather and having to turn every gift store upside down to find a Totoro toy for my friend's kid, I somehow managed to eat some of the best sushi I've ever had.  It's sad to know that Japanese airport sushi is better than 95% of the sushi in the states.  After all the craziness, the plane was cancelled and I was trapped in the air port for the night...

The air port staff were quite friendly and gave me a sleeping bag and some money.  The whole experience taught me that I can be a pretty good hobo.

Then morning came...

Next time, more from the air port of the land of the rising sun.
